Since the release of single use coffee pods, their popularity continues to climb year after year. In fact they account for over 30% of ALL coffee sales.
The two biggest manufactures of the pods Nespresso and Keurig together produce over 40 billion pods per year. All of these pods make it to landfills as they are not fully recyclable.
How to avoid the single use coffee pod:
- Reusable coffee pod
- Compostable coffee pods
- If you only need 1-3 cups off coffee a french press is amazing (this is what we use at home)
- For larger households a traditional drip coffee maker is perfect
