In most homes showers are the third largest water consumer.  The average shower of 8.2 minutes uses 20-25 gallons of water, multiply this number by 30 and that is 750 gallons of water per month per person in your house.  Try getting a low flow shower head that uses 2 gallons per minute, this one step alone can save you about 120 gallons of water per person per month.  Also lower your shower time to 5 minutes, this will save almost 300 gallons per person per month.

3. While waiting for your water to heat up, collect that water in a bucket and use it to water plants or dishes.
